2026 McKelvey Cup and Sopinka Cup Moot Information Session

Are you a law student interested in learning trial skills, like how to do a direct examination, cross examination, jury address, and make objections?

Schulich Law offers a two-credit course each fall, the Sopinka Moot (LAWS 2171), which teaches these skills to 16 students.

From the group of 16, four students are selected to take part in the McKelvey Cup trial moot against the other Atlantic Canada law schools and will receive an extra credit in the winter semester. The best team from the McKelvey Cup will go on to compete in the Sopinka Moot in Ottawa.

Tryouts for admission to the class are open to 1L and 2L students.
