Admission Procedure
The application to the graduate program in Computer Science (PhD, MCS, MACS, MDI, MSc-Comp. Biology & Bioinformatics) is a two-step process, as follows:
Step 1: Complete the 鈥� with the Registrar鈥檚 Office.
- It is recommended to first type the information required into a text file and copy and paste into the online application form.
- Once this is complete it will be sent to the Faculty of Computer Science within two to three business days.
Step 2:聽Once the application is received you will receive your CSID and password to complete the in GradApp.聽
Please review the information on when and how to submit official transcripts on the FGS webpage. Faculty of Computer Science only requires your unofficial transcripts to be uploaded to GradApp; your official transcripts must be delivered from your academic institution to the Faculty of Graduate Studies within 90 days of beginning your program.
References: All You must enter the鈥痚mail address鈥痮f your referee in your online application. Once your application has been submitted, your referee will receive an email within one week requesting that they submit their reference letter online.鈥疶his is the preferred way to receive references. If your referees are unable to submit through that system, we will accept letters at鈥�graduate@cs.dal.ca.鈥疶hese letters must come from their institutional or company email address and be written on an official letterhead and signed.鈥疎nsure your鈥痳eferees provide your Banner ID in the email subject line.
English Language Requirements: The Faculty of Computer Science requires all students to submit an English Language Proficiency document as part of their application. This applies even if your program of study was taught in English.
The document must verify that you meet the required level of English proficiency necessary for academic success in our programs. Please ensure that this documentation is provided in accordance with our application guidelines.

The following deadlines are in effect. Applications received after the deadlines will be considered for admission in the next term.
